Yeah, I realize I'm blogging a lot today, but I just love it. Start a blog..you'll understand.
My 'tent' friend, Tabitha, is not just known for her over-protection of tents ;). We are movie freaks! Thankfully, she and I share almost the same exact taste in movies. Almost every month of 2011 we went to see a movie together..it was great. Over here in Rockingham County we have 4 theaters (I think) or it's close to that. The theater in Eden..definitely worth it. It's no IMAX theater..or even remotely nice. It's just worth it. If you go before 6 you pay three dollars..three dollars and after 6 its only five!! Meanwhile, in other unfortunately large, well-known cities, people pay anywhere from seven to thirteen dollars to see something for about 2 hours that mightn't even be worth it. So, sitting in a less frequented, old, almost dumpy theater is a small price to pay to see a movie..and I am a total movie lover so it works out that this theater is all of 15 minutes away. This year, Tabs and I have anxiously been awaiting some new movies..and even sequels..here are some of them..
October 21st. Chances are you haven't heard about this, but I've known about it for a few months now. IMDB..amazing website where you can check on movie summaries and reviews and all sorts of good stuff. I wondered what had happened to Orlando Bloom after the 3rd Pirates movie and low and behold..I found that he was going to be in yet another remake of the Three Musketeers. I know they say 'don't judge a book by it's cover'..but this certainly does like quite cheesy. Once again, the beauty of three dollar movies..I'm perfectly ok with spending my money to see it. Who knows it might actually surprise me.
November 4th. Yes, we all know why this is coming out. More money for DreamWorks since Shrek is now 'dead'. I really don't know what they're gonna do with this movie considering all the trailers are on the 'hush' Pretty good chance it's not gonna be any good..but once again, I'm very willing to take that chance..
November 18th. Yes. I know. "The book is better". "Twilight is horrible". "Why do you even like this". Truth be told, I know. I've seen every single movie and it just wouldn't feel right not to see the last two. I've read every single book and I'm quite interested in stacking the book against the movie. Who are you kidding? You know that even if you don't like this, you'll still end up seeing it eventually. Curiosity. It's in all of us. Of course, it will rule the box office for the first week or two after it's release..not because it's any good (although that may be the case) but because this franchise has stolen hearts almost..everywhere. No lies, I'm sort of looking forward to this one..I like watching characters develop and change in books, and movies are no different. All you haters out there..be thankful..the series is that much closer to being over. I, however, would actually be alright with spending ten bucks on seeing this.
December 9th. I know Valentines Day wasn't exactly a favorite with most people. It was one of those movies where I watched it and at the end I was like 'ok. cool.' Apparently, it did well enough where they decided to do a similar thing with New Years Eve. I'm sort of expecting this to be a little bit better than Valentines Day. The casting is a bit better..just a bit and the holiday is more neutral. Valentines Day can be a total war zone for certain people, but New Years Eve..is loved by most. Of course, it'll most likely take after Valentines Day but here's another that I really don't mind spending the three dollars on. Zac Efron might be another reason..but still :) Haha!
December 16th. I was a big fan of the first Sherlock Holmes. Personally, I like Robert Downey, Jr. more as Sherlock Holmes than Tony Stark. I'm hoping against hope that this isn't the typical sequel that pales in comparison to the first, but I'm fairly confident that it won't be.
December 21st. Yeah, I'm a pretty big Tom Cruise fan and when I saw the trailer for this during Captain America..I almost screamed. No big deal. Knight and Day was an utter failure to me considering Tom Cruise just can't pull 'funny'. Action is where he's good and action is where he should stay. From the trailer, I was fairly impressed and considering this might very well be the last movie I see during 2011, it just has to be good.
Overall, 2011 had some good movies and from what I see 2012 will have some pretty good ones too. Tabs and I will definitely never get bored with the theater right there. So, rainy days..no big deal. We really love our movies! :)
