So, I realized I made this blog almost a year ago and have yet to really use it. In fact, I didn't even make it..my dad made it for me. Procrastination, such a fan. Anyways, I figure if you're reading this, you must be less a procrastinator than I am, so congrats.
What's new? Co-op. That's what's new. So for all of you non-homeschooled people out there, co-op is what homeschoolers do to basically have a "socially stimulating" time. Of course, when you're younger, you don't appreciate it quite so much as when you're my age. That's right, I'm so incredibly old. Fifteen. It's crazy! But back to co-op. Sure, we try our best to study and actually learn something whilst together, but if you've ever been a teenager with crazy, amazing friends you know learning is the last thing on your mind when you're together. This year, we're exploring the world of Biology and my friends are so stoked to be dissecting a crawdad, it's insane. I, on the other hand, don't mind leaving the animals intact and observing from afar but sadly, we need the credit. On top of Biology, we're going into Spanish. This, I'm pretty stoked about. Who wouldn't like keeping secrets in a different language?! Duh. I just have to keep my procrastinating attitude at bay and never say "yo no puedo". Look it up! Yep, Spanish should be really interesting. Especially if you have friends like mine. I'm definitely gonna update on that later. Finally, we're taking writing. Not just writing in general, more like SAT essay writing. I really don't know what to think of this yet, but I'm sure after the first day, I'll have developed some kind of opinion. In order to get a better idea of how "interesting" co-op should be, I should definitely tell you about the nerds (affectionate term) I'm going to be with.
Morgan is quite the ray of sunshine, haha. She's opened my eyes to quite a few things over my years in the South. Sweet tea, fried chicken, and country music being a few. Sure, sweet tea's got enough caffeine to keep you up till midnight, but everything in moderation. Fried chicken. Wow. Being from Jersey, I've only had it one time in my entire life and I can say it was pretty great. Country music, you really can't go wrong unless that is, you purposely wanna go wrong. We sing pretty much constantly. In fact, if we could communicate through song I'm sure we would. This girl, is perhaps the nerdiest girl I know and it's the best thing ever! Haha. We both share a love of Mountain Dew Voltage..but maybe it's more of a mild addiction than a "love". If you haven't tried Voltage, get up, get in your car, go to the store, and get some. You'll thank me for it later. Which reminds me, thank you Jake! Morgan will most definitely be in following blogs, she has her moments in the spotlight which will hopefully be made available to the public ;)
Mani is the "shy" friend. Aka..totally not shy! She likes to play it that way..but she's a blossoming flower on the cherry tree of life haha. We've had some pretty epic sleepovers over the years. One's where I've slept walked through her house. Others where we thought someone was trying to break in and kill us (imagination, what are you gonna do?) And a few where we talked the night away. We get the "are you guys sisters" question fairly often and while we're not, we are. You know what I mean? We all have that friend. And that friend for me is Mani.
Caroline. Such a nut! From playing basketball, to hosting a jewelry party. From running around Raleigh, to eating a HUGE piece of cheesecake. From playing the playstation all night, to sitting in buckets of water. We've done it all. Name it and we've probably been there, or we're gonna be there soon enough! We both share an adamant love of the piano and cheesecake. Yes, cheesecake. Preferably Aunt Beth's cheesecake. Nothing like it on this planet. Cookie dough cheesecake, ah, be jealous! ;) While we do love our cheesecake, both of our parents have brought us to an "inspired mindset" of physical maintenance. Point being, we work out haha. Especially after eating cheesecake ;)
Sarah our small fry! While I haven't known Sarah quite as long as rest of the nerds, I love the girl! She keeps us all laughing constantly. From the way she plays basketball, to her beautifully graceful passes in football, Sarah's awesome! I wish I could bump into things half as gracefully as she does, ahaha!
Joshua, the wise "older brother" figure in this nerdy mix and he actually is Morgan's older brother, haha. Ok, now don't get confused, he might be older but he knows how to be just as much a goof as the rest of us can be, but maybe not as often. He's the bran muffin. 110%. I don't know if I really wanna indulge in that little story at the moment, but if people are curious, I'll see about it. Anyways, I know for a fact, that during this school year Morgan and I are gonna drive him up a wall with our constant singing, but that's alright. I'm sure he'll yank my chair out from under me, slam me in the face with a basketball or football, and criticize my totally "amazing" driving at some point and singing seems like a just payback. At the same time, he can be a pretty cool person...if you catch him at the right time ;)
David, this would be Caroline's older brother. We don't really do lots of things together, but maybe we will this year. Anyways, in writing, this kid comes up with the most bizarre things! It's pretty entertaining! Parley...hahahaha.
Andrew, Sarah's older brother. (side note-everyone's got an older brother but me :P) Andrew also keeps writing pretty lively and is not a major fan of the North, but no matter. I'm not a major fan either. During football season, David and Andrew can be heard talking about fantasy football quite frequently, and, "sadly", most of us don't understand a word they're saying, haha.
Jacob. So this guy is the "King of the Nerds". He's introduced all of us to so many things we probably would've never thought of. Football, for one. Say what you might like but our co-op group (girls included) can actually legit play football. Ok, so some of us aren't that amazing, but together, it works. Voltage! As previously stated, amazing soda. Lecrae. Up until this past year, I wasn't such a fan of rap but Lecrae is pretty good stuff. I totally recommend listening to his music! Even though Jake doesn't "go" to our church, he's like family.
Ty and Ian. So, I just met these dudes this year and I can already tell that they're gonna be a great addition to co-op! They've already brought more football, and they've definitely brought comedy! It's gonna be cool getting to know them more!
I just described everyone in the group, but you know what, I barely touched the surface. These people are all amazing and I wish you could know them like I know them. Co-op wouldn't be the same with just one of them missing. So, what's new? Co-op...with the nerds! :)
