Singing (or attempting to sing) it, playing it, listening to it.
Time for my cheesy blog statement..but I really believe this.
Music speaks to people. It really, really does. And most of the time, if you're listening, you'll find something that'll make you go "Wow, that lyric was there just for me."
Anyways, 2012..almost over..
Here are some albums I've heard "speaking" to me;)
It's Time - Imagine Dragons
So, normally, we all have that one song on any given CD that we really, really like. And we just ignore the rest of it. Well, this might be one of the only CD's (that wasn't Justin Bieber) where I liked every. single. song. Definitely one of my favorite albums. Ever.
Take You - Justin Bieber
*Sigh*. There are just not enough words to describe this. I just..love him.
Summer Love - One Direction
I actually just got this album less than a month ago, but seriously, it's good. When One Direction first came into being, I was adamantly against them. I mean, why on earth did we need another boy band? But, of course, I was one of those people that heard of "The Wanted" before hearing of One Direction. And, apparently, it's one or the other. You can't like both. While "What Makes You Beautiful" is that song that everyone knows the lyrics to and will always remember as being One Direction's "thing", this album is much more..in depth? Some of the songs on "Take Me Home" are MUCH more grown-up than the songs on "Up All Night." Click the link in the caption. Check it out.
Ghosts That We Knew - Mumford & Sons
I'm a big advocate for sharing music with friends and vice versa. And there's one friend in particular that's pretty much right up my alley..when it comes to music, anyways. So, this one is for Carson. To this day, I'm still on the fence about Mumford & Sons. Yup, I know. Shame on me, blah, blah, blah. It took me until yesterday to realize that, since "Babel" has been released, I've pretty much listened to the entire thing via Carson:P Either through Spotify or his covers. Or both. I've checked Babel out. And..I like what I heard. I love the way they incorporate little Biblical things into their music. So, maybe, I've turned a new leaf and like Mumford & Sons..a tad? We'll see.
Matthew Finney is the greatest person in the world! Why? Because he got me this album for Christmas. Hurrah. Hahaha, I love Ed Sheeran. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. I can't even decide what link to post. You just need to listen to the entire thing! No. Joke.
Ah, so you're probably sitting there waiting for me to post about Taylor Swift and "Red" and how wondrous I thought it was. Pshh. Haven't touched that thing. Taylor Swift has lost me. In the beginning, when I was like 12-13 years old and felt all..romance-y, her music was..my food. But, how many boyfriend probs can one chick really have? And how much money can she make from exploiting those problems? Well, Taylor Swift is on a mission to find out, and unfortunately for her, some of us don't like hearing about heartbreak after heartbreak after heartbreak after (totally unexpected..not) heartbreak. Another thing about her that's throwing me off is her diversion from her "home" genre. Was country music not good enough?
Here's to hoping the rest of the world gets tired of her men problems soon.
